Language Arts 3/30

1) Read up through page 14 (finish the sentence on the top of page 15) in Fahrenheit 451. Be sure to annotate as you read - take notes on important information, questions you have, interesting thoughts and ideas.

2) Handwrite or type a one-paragraph description of Guy Montag.  Describe Montag's character and personality. What types of things does he value?  What types of ideas and emotions does he consider? You may use quotes (with page numbers) to help prove/support your thoughts.

3) Continue filling out your chart!!

all blocks:    1 page paper due Monday on diversity math topic,  handwritten or typed

                     4 paragraphs in paper:
                      1) Describe the topic.  How is it used in daily life?
                      2) Who came up with the idea?  (ok if it was more than one person)
                           Describe the person/ people.
                      3) Where did the person live?  In what years?
                      4) Summarize  why the math topic is important and anything else about the person or
                           topic. 
 Possible topics: Pythagorean theorem, the number 'zero,' negative numbers, Fibonacci sequence, pi (3.14), probability, orbits of planets, golden ratio, calculus, Euclidean geometry, or other topics. 
                   

 Counts as two homework assignments.

Using gerunds or gerund phrases, write five sentences about your novel.  Check your work to make sure you are using these verbals correctly! I will be collecting your sentences tomorrow!

2) Keep reading your book and taking notes.  You should have at least half of the book read by the end of this week.
