Language Arts 5/31

1) Create new sentences for vocabulary words 1-7 of our "Flowers for Algernon" vocabulary list.  Also, draw (or use images from the internet) a picture to represent each word.

2) Study your vocabulary words for the quiz on Friday.

3) Study your Grammar Review Packet for the test next Wednesday (6/8). Please bring questions to class!

Purpose- Observe properties of air pressure in a closed system

Hypothesis-  for trials 3 and 4.. be sure to include why you thought whatever it was you thought. 

Materials

Procedure- Be very clear what you had to do for each trial, include forming the hypothesis for trials 3 and 4

Observations- Do this section by observation and label each section. Tell me--> what did you see or feel?  Don't include science explanations here

Analysis- Explain scientifically what happened in each trial. Include your models here. LABEL EVERYTHING---> Air and Pressure

Lab Report Details DUE FRIDAY

Lab Report DUE Friday Must have a cover page.
Name it Paint Can Crush Lab.... Or something like that.

Include--- 
Hypothesis (if you had the opportunity to create one)
Materials- How much of each material did we need?
Procedure- Be clear about safety procedures as well.
Data- Will be your observations, what did you see, what did you hear, what did you feel?   Did you touch the paint can?
Analysis- WHY did that happen to the paint can? Use words like--- ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE, HEAT, MOLECULES, PRESSURE, INCREASE, DECREASE, BOYLES LAW. 
CONCLUSION- SUMMARIZE QUICKLY WHAT HAPPENED

1. Take a paper and hold it landscape... fold it in half... one side draw an animal cell and a plant cell on the other... next label all of the organelles 

2. On a different piece of paper list  numbers 1-10 and list 10 different organelles and tell me if you find them in a plant or animal cell...THEN tell me the function of the organelle IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
